Thanksgiving has kicked off the season for family and gratitude…you can be sure that our Ride-On Carry-On Family spent Thanksgiving huddled around a table of yummy food with close friends and family, and then there was the #BlackFriday, #SmallBusinessSaturday, #CyberMonday sales.

Tuesday, started off the month of December with the National Day of Giving (#GivingTuesday), a chance to give back on a global or local scale! The beauty is that it is never too soon or a bad day to instill and celebrate generosity!

Sure, donations are great and many organizations perform inspiring, extraordinary and amazing endeavors. For example Donors Choose is true to its mission to help students and classrooms in need or IndieGoGo project helped through crowdfunding. But giving doesn’t always have to be money; time, talent, creativity or a helping hand are welcome sources that you and your child can partake in. Check out the article where our Friends over at PBS share some invaluable “Tips for Volunteering with Kids“, basically you can brainstorm ideas as a family to find activities that are fun, easy and can simply be included as a part of the family schedule. Even bring a few friends along, the more the merrier! For some more ideas also check out Generation On, they have a section just for kids to facilitate their involvement and extend a helping hand.

The beauty of giving is that you get so much more in return! Ride-On Carry-On and Give from your Heart!
